NEFCO Top 360 Award for 2019 SOD races

ERIE, MI (June 25, 2019) – NEFCO, North East Fabrication Company, Jonesville, Michigan, has partnered with Lane Automotive Sprints On Dirt powered by King Engine Bearings / MSD Performance / Motul to give drivers with 360 engines a chance to win an extra bonus at all SOD races throughout the rest of 2019.
The NEFCO Top 360 Award will pay the top finishing 360 $100 and a unique 10” diameter laser-cut medal for the winner. When SOD returns to Butler on Saturday, July 6th for the $2,500-to-win Independence 25, the NEFCO Top 360 Award will be a whopping $500!

SOD’s “Beyond Limits” format strives to let drivers showcase their skills instead of their horsepower. Ryan Ruhl won the first SOD race under the format with his 360 on the big Hartford Motor Speedway. Ruhl and Zane DeVault have shown what a talented driver can do with a 360. Canada’s Dylan Westbrook drove to an impressive 2nd place finish in the COMP Cams End-of-the-Year Shootout at Berlin Raceway last year in his 360.
NEFCO is primarily a custom metal fabrication company and sells metals such as steel, aluminum, and alloys. It also sells welding equipment, supplies, and gases. Chad Blonde battles to take the win at Butler

ERIE, MI (June 23, 2019) – Saturday brought sunny skies,
warm temperatures and exciting racing for Lane Automotive Sprints On Dirt
powered by King Engine Bearings / MSD Ignition / Motul at Butler Speedway and Chad
Blonde battled past early leader Josh Turner to drive off to the win.
Pole sitter Turner took the lead on the start over outside
front row starter Jay Steinebach. The
action was hot and heavy behind the leaders with several cars battling for
third through seventh. Turner opened up a slight lead as Steinebach slipped
over the top in turn two and dropped several positions. Turner maintained his lead through a red flag
when Luke Daugherty got on his side in turn four and several cautions. Blonde worked his way forward from his
seventh starting spot and began to challenge Turner. With the leaders utilizing the bottom of the
track, Blonde powered into the lead on lap 17 and drove off to the win.
The racing was intense and passing was plentiful. Daryl Shaffer was MAHLE / KSE Hard Charger,
advancing 9 positions. Thomas Schinderle
(+8), Ryan Ruhl, driving his own 360 #16 (+7), and winner Blonde (+6) showed
how exciting and competitive the racing was.
The non-stop heat races started the night of close racing as
Quentin Blonde took the Engler Machine & Tool Heat over Turner and Jacob
Hesson who started ninth. Jay Steinebach
won the King Engine Bearings Heat with Zane DeVault finishing second and Boston
Mead third.
It was announced that SOD will return to Butler on Saturday,
July 6th for the $2,500-to-win Independence 25. With last night’s great racing in mind, the
I-25 should be a great one!

Chad Blonde takes Jack & Jiggs Classic at Gas City
ERIE, MI (June 15, 2019) – Friday night, the Lane Automotive Sprints On Dirt powered by King Engine Bearings / MSD Ignition / Motul ventured south to Jerry Gappen’s pristine Gas City I-69 Speedway for the 2nd annual Jack and Jiggs Classic. Chad Blonde drove to an impressive win in front of the large, enthusiastic crowd after some pretty intense racing.
After a slow start, qualifying 4th in his heat group, Blonde regrouped and won the Engler Machine & Tool Heat and the MSD Performance Dash, earning the pole for the feature. With a mad scramble into turn one on the first lap of the feature, Blonde was shuffled back to 4th as Zane DeVault charged into the lead. After a couple early cautions, Blonde moved into 2nd on lap 4. As the leaders got into traffic, Blonde powered into the lead on lap 8 and DeVault got boxed in, letting Blonde drive away. From there on, Blonde was in full command and survived cautions and reds to take the win.
The big crowd was thrilled by intense racing for 2nd through 5th between DeVault in a car just put together last week, Kody Kinser, Tyler Gunn, and Boston Mead. Dan McCarron, running in the top 4, was the victim of contact by another car and flipped, bringing out the first red flag. Reds also were displayed for a Jay Steinebach flip and a near flip by Joshua Turner.
Kody Kinser and Boston Mead were Benic Enterprises Fast Masters (fast qualifiers). Blonde won the Engler Machine & Tool Heat and the MSD Performance Dash. Zane Devault took the King Engine Bearings Heat
SOD point leader Ryan Ruhl had an eventful night as a mechanical issue prevented him from qualifying. Ruhl started 18th in the feature and charged ahead only to be the victim of a spin. Undaunted and restarting at the rear, he quickly moved up, finishing 7th and being the MAHLE / KSE Hard Charger.
