Fife Lake,Mi – (20-7-2012) –Dustin Daggett turned in a stellar performance Friday night at Cherry Raceway during the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP feature taking his first win of the season. The term “hooked up” is used a lot in sprint car circles, but Daggett was most definitely hooked up for the 25 lap main event as he started 3rd and jumped into the lead at the green flag. The 2m of Daggett quickly widened his command over 2nd place Greg Wheeler and set sail leaving the remainder of the field to battle it out.

Wheeler, Steve Irwin, Ryan Ruhl and Ryan Grubaugh were all fighting for position in the early stages of the night cap as Daggett was dominating and lapping cars. On lap 12 Grubaugh took over the 2nd spot with Ryan Ruhl also on the prowl and Gregg Dalman now moving up.

It looked as if the feature may go green to checker with Daggett passing cars at will but on the 20th circuit, the 70 of Jim Lingar spun in turn four. On the restart it was Daggett, Grubaugh, Ruhl, Dalman and Irwin. However with some lapped traffic in the mix, Daggett was able to continue his run to the checkers and once again was untouchable tonight.

Heat races were captured by Ryan Grubaugh, Ryan Ruhl and Greg Wheeler. Gregg Dalman picked up the dash victory. Robert Huisken flipped during the 2nd heat and looked to be finished for the night, but hard work by his crew and a couple other teams enabled him to make the feature and end up with a 9th place finish.

Shaffer Sails to Waynesfield S.O.D Victory

By Mike Stevel / Bryan Hulbert, Mike Campbell photo

– Waynesfield, Ohio (July 3, 2012) In the inaugural Bob Reynolds Memorial race at Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield Ohio it was veteran racer Tim Shaffer  taking the $6,000 first place prize in front of one of the largest crowds in the history of the Ohio oval.

Pole sitter and early leader Dustin Daggett was fast during the first 10 laps of the night’s feature event before fourth starting Shaffer made his move on Daggett and took the lead on lap thirteen. Falling back, it was later discovered a failing right rear was to blame as Shaffer raced on to victory.

The very happy racer thanked promoter Ron Hammons, his hard working crew and all the incredible fans that came out to support this new 360 Sprint Car special.
