ASCS Sprints on Dirt MAHLE/Clevite Short Track Challenge Announced

TULSA, Okla. (March 31, 2011) – The Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt Presented by ARP is excited to announce that the MAHLE/Clevite Short Track Challenge is scheduled again for 2011.
The challenge will consist of a total of eight races that drivers will be able to earn extra winnings as they compete in these select events. This point fund is an addition to the standard race purse each event pays out and the season long championship point fund that Engine Pro and ARP support as title sponsors.
The Short Track Challenge will be held at six different Michigan speedways giving race fans the opportunity to see the best winged sprint car drivers in the state do battle for this championship race within the championship chase. The events that will be a part of this exciting chase will be on the following dates: Saturday April 30 Crystal Motor Speedway, June 17 Cherry Raceway, July 8 Mt. Pleasant Speedway, July 29 Winston Speedway, August 12 Cherry Raceway, August 27 Owendale Speedway, September 3 Crystal Motor Speedway and September 24 at I-96 Speedway on the 3/8 oval.
If all eight events are completed the driver earning the most points will be awarded a $1,000 payment as the winner of the MAHLE/Clevite Short Track Challenge. Point fund monies will be available for the top ten in the 2011 MAHLE/Clevite Short Track Challenge.

Waynesfield Raceway Park Event Added to Schedule

Gun Lake, MI — The 2011 Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt Presented by ARP schedule has now changed to fill the TBA listed for Saturday May 28 with an appearance at Waynesfield Raceway Park. The Waynesfield Ohio 1/3 mile oval will fill the Saturday portion of the three day Memorial Day tour of Ohio for the co-sanctioned events between the NRA Sprint Invaders and the Sprints on Dirt.

The holiday weekend will start with the only appearance of the year for the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt Presented by ARP in Ohio at the beautiful Limaland Motorsports Park on May 27. The Waynesfield event will follow and the weekend will be completed with a visit to Tony Stewart’s infamous Eldora Raceway in Rossburg Ohio on Sunday May 29.

This should complete the 2011 schedule for the series with the opener just over a month away at Crystal Motor Speedway on Saturday April 30. For more information please look to www.sprintsondirt.com.




Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt Presented by ARP Announces Schedule Changes

Gun Lake, MI — It is with regret that the Engine Pro Sprints on Dirt Presented by ARP must announce that they have postponed the Friday August 26 event scheduled for Tri-City Motor Speedway in Auburn. The Michigan based winged sprint car series was looking forward to appearing at the redesigned historic Tri-City Speedway and making its debut at the new 3/8 mile clay oval. Due to a schedule conflict, the Engine Pro Sprints on Dirt Presented by ARP will now attempt to schedule events at the speedway for 2012. The management of both Tri-City Motor Speedway and SOD would like to apologize for the confusion. For more information please look at www.sprintsondirt.com and www.tricityracetrack.com. The Engine Pro Sprints on Dirt Presented by ARP wish good luck to Tri-City Motor Speedway for their inaugural season.

An addition to the 2011 season schedule will be the August 12 date being hosted by the Cherry Speedway in Fife Lake, Michigan. This was originally listed as a TBA on the released 2011 schedule. The Sprints on Dirt look forward to appearing at the racy northern speedway on two occasions in 2011 with the other date being June 17.

The opening event of the 2011 championship chase will be Saturday April 30 at the Crystal Motor Speedway in Crystal, Michigan.

2011 Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt Presented by ARP Schedule is Released

Gun Lake, MI — The 32nd season of exciting sprint car racing will begin at Crystal Motor Speedway on April 30 for the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt Presented by ARP series. An incredible variety of events are on the calendar at speedways in Michigan, Ohio and Ontario. A total of 23 races are currently on the schedule with one event to be announced and the very special three day Canadian Sprint Car Nationals among the much anticipated 2011 calendar.

Highlights for the 2011 season include the King of Michigan race September 9 at Hartford Motor Speedway, return visits to Ohio tracks; Limaland Motorsports Park and Eldora Speedway and the new Ontario Summer Sprint Series at Ohsweken Speedway and South Buxton Raceway. A total of thirteen different race tracks currently appear on the schedule.

Long time supporting tracks of the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt Presented by ARP returning for 2011 include I-96 Speedway, Cherry Raceway, Owendale Speedway and the Winston Speedway. Crystal Motor Speedway in Crystal MI hosts three events in 2011 and holds the honors of being the only track in the country to host an event every year in the 32 year history of the winged sprint series. I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan will host four events, the first being held May 14 on the ½ mile while the other three dates will be on the 3/8 mile oval. Two visits to Owendale and Winston will be popular stops and a second visit to Cherry Raceway is still under negotiation.

The popular appearance at the Ionia Free Fair Speedway will again occur on Friday July 22 and a new speedway hosting its first show is the Tri City Motor Speedway in Auburn, Michigan on August 26. The Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt Presented by ARP will again support the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals at Oshweken Speedway September 15-17. The schedule also allows teams the opportunity to participate in this year’s Knoxville 360 Nationals if they choose with no races being scheduled to conflict with this event in August.

The Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP series sanctions winged Sprint Car races at speedways throughout Michigan, Ohio and the Canadian province of Ontario and will enjoy its 32nd season of operation. The 2011 schedule can be viewed at www.sprintsondirt.com.
